Uch is located on 75km from the city of Bahawalpur & was founded by Alexander the Great. it later came under the control of the Delhi Sultanate. It has seen many eras & rulers. It used to be a political & cultural hub and was a center of mosques and shrines. The Mysticism is deep rooted here in this land and had spread the light of Islam since eons. Some of the most popular shrines in Uch are of Bibi Jawindi, Baha’al-Halim and Jalaluddin Bukhari, these all are concentrated in a compound known as Uch Sharif and are listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Other tombs include Fazaluddin Ladla Bukhari, Makhdoom Jahaniyan Jahangasht, Jamaluddin Khandan Rau, Rajan Qattal & Ustad Nuriya. This city is known for its ancient history and rich culture of South Punjab. Uch beautifully reflects the pure village culture of Punjab. Sohan Halwa is the famous delicacy of Uch Sharif. Sohangana (moringa flowers) are also cooked here. Falsa (Grewia), mangoos, pomegranate are grown and produced in the Fruits. Uch Sharif is well known for its Dates Palm.
