The tomb of Jahangir is located in Shahdara Bagh in Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan, along the banks of the Ravi River. It was constructed to revere one of the Mughal Era’s most powerful emperors. Jahangir’s son Shah Jahan built the mausoleum 10 years after his father's death. It is one of the best-kept mausoleums from the Mughal Era in the world. Although official records say Emperor Shah Jahan was the head designer, most historians believe Nur Jahan had more influence over the construction of this tomb complex. There’s a great deal of evidence that suggests Nur Jahan financed the construction of this grand tomb rather than the imperial treasury. The entire tomb complex measures 500 meters and is divided into three main components: the exterior, the gardens, and the inner chambers. Red sand stone and marble is extensively used with its facade adorned in fine-looking marble motifs and floral patterns. Each of four-part gardens, officially called Chahar Baghs, has a central fountain. The 99 attributes of Almighty Allah are also engraved here artistically.
